WATCH: BRILLIANT 'HE FOR SHE' SPEECH

This week I was contacted by Plan International Australia, a global children’s rights organisation.

They are asking blogs like mine to help break barriers faced by so many young girls; such as child marriage and being denied an education.

Plan International drew my attention to actress Emma Watson’s compelling speech at the launch of UN Women’s ‘He for She’ campaign last week. Fresh out of college the British actress was named Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women.

It’s a global solidarity campaign seeking to mobilise one billion men and boys over the next 12 months as advocates or agents of change for gender equality.

Watson’s words has shaken feminism and attracted global applause.

She asks us, “to take action against all forms of violence and discrimination faced by women and girls.”

“Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong,” she said.

This video is a must watch; it makes me hopeful.

I wonder if you wouldn’t mind sharing this with the men in your lives? I’m sure they’d like to hear from Hermoine Granger.
